Frederick and sons have been painting and carving since 1986. some of their work includes,Lenape middle school, Royersford High school, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia, Polo Ralph Lauren stores across the country, the carousel store in Martha's vineyard, the ambassador from Turkey in D.C., as well as being sellected out of 10's of 1000's of craftsmen across the United States to represent the American craftsmen of the 20th century for the White House in the year 1999. Animals, rocking horses, antique restorations, archetectual carvings,furniture, custom chairs, pedistals, molding and casting are just a few of the pursuits Frederick and son's are involved in. We like a new challenge, try us.
The main focus, however, has been making the heirloom rocking horses and carousel animals such as the horse, dragon, bear, lion, tiger, zebra, frog, camel, rabbit, and of couses our famous giraffe.

The construction of Federick & Sons Carousel figures is patterned after the old time carousel carvers, Select Basswood is cut and dried, then formed into a hollow box.
The finishing process begins with two heavy coats of primer, hand sanding between each coat, then topcoats of artist oils. To finish off the painting, two more coats of clear are added. The final step includes any gold leafing, and finally, the jewels are set in place.
They also do carved and gold-leafed signs for home or business. They have expanded into other carved pieces for the home such a mantles, bed-heads, and wall hangings.
As members of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman, Frederick and sons take pride in there restoration of antiques as well, documenting each step for authenticity and future reference.
